3-Hour Songwriting Workshop
Teacher: Cliff Eberhardt

Cliff has been writing songs and touring for 24 years. In addition, he regularly teaches at prestigious songwriting camps all over the U.S. including Swannanoa Gathering, Rocky Mountain Folks Fest, Wintersongs, Summersongs, Summer Acoustic Music Week (SAMW) as well as hosting personal workshops and private lessons. This is a great opportunity for all levels of songwriters.

Song Structure: Intros, Outros, Bridges, and Breaks will be explored. Cliff will listen to songs written by participants and suggest how changing a phrase or chord can make the melodies more interesting. His goal is to "inspire students to take a new look at their approach to their work. I generally let the class tell me what they're most interested in learning and gear my teaching to satisfy those interests."

• Anyone who wants to participate should bring a song they're working on, that they have not yet recorded, and their instrument of choice.

• Cliff has a great deal of teaching experience, most recently at Wildflowers! Art & Music Festival, and repeatedly at SAMW and Swannanoa, where he always receives the highest instructor ratings. From April - June, 2012, Cliff performed his original music in the Folger Shakespeare Theatre's production of The Taming of the Shrew, in Washington, DC, receiving rave reviews and winning a prestigious Helen Hayes award. His latest CD, Shrew Songs, is all acoustic, all Cliff and one of Cliff's best.

Cost: $60 (includes BBQ buffet lunch)

What to Bring: Laptop, notebook, pen and musical instrument

Workshop limited to 12 people.
